If Using For Wheel Cleaning
Dilute the Acid: Never use pure hydrochloric acid on wheels. A diluted solution is less aggressive. Start with a 10% solution (1 part HCl to 9 parts water) and adjust as needed. Always add acid to water, not the other way around, to prevent violent reactions.
Pre-clean the Wheel: Rinse the wheel with water to remove loose dirt and debris. This prevents scratching the wheel surface during cleaning.
Application: Apply the diluted hydrochloric acid solution to the wheel. Use a spray bottle for even application. Do not let the acid sit on the wheel for extended periods.
Scrubbing: Gently scrub the wheel using a soft brush or microfiber cloth. Be careful not to scratch the wheel's surface.
Rinse Thoroughly: Rinse the wheel thoroughly with plenty of water to remove all traces of the acid.
How To use
Apply the acid to the desired area or use it according to your specific application. If you're cleaning or descaling, allow the acid to work for a few minutes before scrubbing or rinsing the area.
If you're using the acid for pH adjustment, monitor the pH closely with a pH meter to avoid overshooting the desired pH level.
Once finished, any unused acid or acid-containing solution should be neutralised before disposal. This can typically be done by adding a base such as sodium bicarbonate until the solution is near neutral (pH 7).
Rinse and clean your tools and workspace. If there was any spillage, neutralise the spill with a base like sodium bicarbonate and clean up promptly.
